UPCOMING EVENTS

INTERNATIONAL ASTROLOGY DAY | March 27, 2026 at 7 p.m. EST

International Astrology Day (IAD) was first asserted by the Association for Astrological Networking in 1993 and is an annual observance/holiday celebrated by astrologers and astrology enthusiasts. Each year, NCGR-NYC uses the proceeds from our IAD events to support our astrology programs and community.

This year, we are delighted to welcome Alejo López, who will present Gender and Power in Astrological Practice. Gender is a loaded concept. As such, it carries power. How is this power dynamic played out in our interpretations and in our relationships with our clients? Alejo's research at the University of Wales, under the supervision of the Sophia Centre, led him to explore how astrologers understood the word "gender" and applied it to planetary principles. Are archetypes gendered? Does the gender of the client or the astrologer affect how they relate to the different archetypes or how we conduct the session? In this lecture, Alejo will explore how gender may have a strong, yet unrecognized, influence in our craft and we will reflect together if there is something we can do about it.

NCGR-NYC 2025 Annual Membership Meeting

THE TWO KEYS TO ASTRO*CARTO*GRAPHY with Kenneth Irving

WHEN:

FRIDAY, SEPT. 26, 2025

WHAT:

Astrology changed some years ago when Jim Lewis began selling world maps that showed where the Sun, the Moon, and the planets in a person’s birth chart could be found rising, setting, or on an upper or lower angle anywhere around the world. The maps made it possible to use astrology to make decisions such as where to live or where to go for a vacation, but they tended to leave the birth chart itself out of the picture. The focus of this talk, based on the book The Psychology of Astro*Carto*Graphy, shows how the birth chart and the map together can affect a move.

Recording now available!

Every spring, the New York City Chapter of NCGR presents a new perspective on our ever-changing, ever-evolving practice.

This year we are honored to have three expert astrologers from varied backgrounds share with us their theories and techniques for applying astrology more effectively with our clients and ourselves. These astrologers will present their perspectives based on their many years of experience, their work with clients, and their studies and observations.

The Epic of Gilgamesh: A Mythic Asteroid Exploration on the Search for Immortality

by Amy Angelo

The Epic of Gilgamesh is a rich and ancient work of literature, originating from ancient Mesopotamia around 2100 BCE. Gilgamesh, the legendary king of Uruk, is a hero renowned for his strength, adventures, and quest for immortality. His story marks a shift in consciousness from the cyclical reality of the great mother goddess to the erection of a mighty hero. Themes of immortality and legacy, love and loss reach us through the ages in this timeless story.

In this lecture, we will delve into the mythology of Gilgamesh and explore how asteroids associated with this epic manifest in the lives and birth charts of individuals who have shifted our consciousness in a radical way. By examining the placement of these asteroids at key points in the birth chart, we uncover important archetypes, stories and mythic imprints that shape the destinies of these individuals.  Prominent asteroids from Gilgamesh’s tale will serve as guides, linking the ancient myth to our modern understanding.

The Lunar Stations

by J.M. Hamade

An introduction to the mysterious 28- (sometimes 27-) sign zodiac of the Moon. The lunar stations, better known as the lunar mansions, make up the starry backdrop of the Moon's monthly journeys across the sky. Through the three cultures with the most enduring traditions of lunar station use, namely the Indian, Chinese, and Arab/Islamic, we will explore their significance in ancient times onwards to today.

Fixed Stars and Natal Planets

by Elizabeth Hazel

This is an excellent presentation for astrologers who are interested in integrating fixed stars into their practice and are ready to learn basic methods for delineating planet-star combinations. Liz presents a series specific constellations and stars followed by sample charts that demonstrate how those stars operate in natal charts. Participants will learn how to blend planet and star meanings, gain insights on how different planets channel stellar energies, and how fixed stars can create important life themes.

International Astrology Day (IAD) is an annual observance/holiday that was first asserted by the Association for Astrological Networking in 1993. Each year, NCGR-NYC uses the proceeds from our IAD events to support our astrology programs and community.

In honor of International Astrology Day 2025, we're excited to have Eileen McCabe speak to us about THE PROCESS OF CHANGE.

With Pluto now in Aquarius for the next 19 years, and with Saturn, Neptune and Uranus moving into new signs in 2025-2026, how does the astrologer help people to navigate these intense and dramatic cosmic changes in their own personal lives?
